Until you are ready to set it up, keep your tree in a cool, sheltered location away from direct sunlight and strong wind.Once indoors, place it in a stand with plenty of water. A freshly cut tree may absorb as much as a gallon during its first day, so check the water level frequently.Never allow the water to fall below the bottom of the trunk. If the cut end is exposed to air, sap can seal the base and prevent the tree from absorbing more water. If this happens, make a fresh cut across the bottom before returning the tree to its stand.Check out our Christmas tree care page for more detailed information!
