As The Trees Grew,
So Did Our Family

The Braun family has lived and farmed in the Ann Arbor area since 1860. In 1987, after the family moved from their previous farm on Whitmore Lake Road to the current location on Warren Road, Charlie Braun and his wife, Cathy, planted the first 20,000 Christmas tree saplings using a single-row planter, with their faithful dog, Freeway, by their side.

No stranger to farming, Charlie Braun's creativity and passion for farming had once earned him the cover of the 1963 Successful Farming magazine, featuring his innovative Plow Planter invention. That same extraordinary ability helped he and his wife, Cathy's, dreams become a reality when Braun's Trees opened in 1996, welcoming families from across the region to create lasting Christmas traditions.

The tree farm operated successfully until Charlie’s passing in 2013. Cathy continued the family tradition with the help of her sons until they retired in the summer of 2024. Cathy sadly passed away in 2024 leaving the tree farm with a brief pause in operations. We're excited to say, your family's favorite trees are back!

Today, Charlie and Cathy’s legacy lives on. In 2026, their daughter, Mary McCreedy, her husband, Jim, their children and family are proud to reopen the farm as Ann Arbor Christmas Tree Farm. We are honored to continue the tradition of providing beautiful Christmas trees and creating cherished family memories for generations to come.
